This Privacy Policy explains how Centennial Connection ("the App") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. The App is operated by an individual developer based in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Account Information: • Email address (@my.centennialcollege.ca) • First and last name • Date of birth • Gender Profile Information: • Academic program (major) • Current semester • Country of origin • Biography text • Profile photos (up to 3) Preferences & Activity: • Quiz answers (10 personality questions) • Swipe history (likes and dislikes) • Date and time of last activity Communications: • Chat messages sent and received Derived Data: • Compatibility scores • Response rate • Mutual match count We do not collect your precise location, phone number, financial information, or device contacts.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to: • Display your profile to other eligible users and enable matching. • Personalize your feed based on preferences and compatibility. • Ensure safety and enforce our Terms of Use. • Maintain and improve the App. • Send account-related notifications (e.g., email verification). We do not use your information for targeted advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services — Google Firebase
The App is built on Google Firebase (Google LLC, USA). Firebase services we use: • Firebase Authentication — manage account login • Cloud Firestore — store profiles, swipes, conversations, messages • Firebase Cloud Storage — store profile photos Your data is stored on Google's servers. Google acts as a data processor bound by its own privacy standards. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. By using the App, you acknowledge that your data may be processed on infrastructure located outside of Canada.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your information may be shared only in these circumstances: • With other App users — your profile is visible to eligible users as part of normal App functionality. Chat messages are visible to the other participant. • To comply with legal obligations — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority. • To protect safety — if disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, or imminent harm.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account: • Your profile, photos, swipe history, and messages will be deleted within 30 days. • Some data may be retained for a limited additional period to comply with legal obligations or resolve outstanding disputes.
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including: • Firebase Security Rules restricting database and storage access. • Encrypted data transmission over HTTPS. • Access controls limiting who can read or write data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we may have collected data from a minor, please contact us at heoposit@gmail.com and we will delete that information promptly.
9. Your Rights (PIPEDA)
As a user in Canada, you have the following rights: • Right of Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. • Right to Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information. • Right to Withdraw Consent — withdraw consent at any time; this may require closing your account. • Right to Deletion — delete your account and associated data through Account Settings. 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
